I got involved in disaster relief during Hurricane Harvey in Houston with the group West Street Recovery, and since then I've also been communicating with groups forming and evolving in disaster through the MADR network. I'm really grateful to have learned about what collective potential can look like in crisis. I'm really keen on supporting the sharing of lessons learned in disaster response/prep/recovery across this decentralized network. Emphasizing and learning what the "mutual" in mutual aid means in different context is important to me.
